COURSE SUMMARY:
This course is designed to help small operators and maintenance organisations plan how they will meet the Safety Management Systems requirements of ICAO, IS-BAO and the UK CAA, which will be mandatory for operators from April 8th 2012.

Successful delegates will be able to understand the principles of SMS and apply them within their own organisation; how to identify and risk assess hazards and control them; the importance of a just culture and reporting systems; how to set up a Safety Management System within their own organisation to meet the ICAO and expected EASA requirements and integrate it with their occupational health and safety and environmental safety management system.

This course is suitable for anyone who needs to understand how to implement and manage Safety Management Systems in aviation. It is particularly suitable for individuals working for a Flight Safety Managers, Safety Managers and Quality Managers, or anyone in an equivalent role.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to: 

               Understand safety management and apply its and principles into their

working environment

•               Appreciate the basic requirements for a Safety Management System that 
                is 
applicable for all aspects of Aviation

•               Understand and apply the principles of hazard identification, risk
                assessment
and control measures and assess their effectiveness

•               Implement a just culture within their organisations

ACCREDITATION:
Upon completion of the programme participants will be awarded a certificate confirming successful completion of training in Aviation Safety Management Systems.
