What - Level 3 BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering

Who - Able and motivated 16-18 year olds with 5 GCSEs A*- C grades including Maths, English and Science
When - 42 weeks (4 days a week)
WHAT DO I NEED?
Ideally, you should have 5 GCSEs at Grade A* - C including English, Maths and Science.
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I RECEIVE?
Level 3 BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering Key Skills in Application of Number, Communication and ICT.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
12/18 units will be completed, some of which will be mandatory units. Those include Computer Aided Design, Mechanical Principles and some CNC work. A lengthy Engineering project is a compulsory part of the course.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment will be in three parts: Completion of project, assessment of each unit and a written examination
WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE WHILE I AM ON THE COURSE?
You will be allocated a personal tutor to help you throughout your course.
Support in literacy and numeracy can also be provided throughout the course should this be of benefit to you.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
The course carries UCAS points and can be used to progress to a
Degree course.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
For 16-18 year olds, the course is fully funded. For 19+ students, fees may be applicable
