What - Level 2 Apprenticeship
Where - Prospects College, Southend
Who - Able and motivated 16-24 year olds, employed in the Plumbing industry and capable of completing an apprenticeship at Level 2.
When - 21 months on day release basis
WHAT DO I NEED?
Ideally, you should have three GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and Maths. Literacy and numeracy skills can however be assessed at interview stage for applicants without GCSEs. You must also be employed in the industry of your chosen subject.
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I RECEIVE?
Level 2 Plumbing Apprenticeship comprising of:
Level 2 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Skills, NVQ2 and Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will combine practical learning in our workshops with theory sessions in your chosen vocational area.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Each qualification within the apprenticeship framework is assessed through ongoing demonstration of your practical skills and theory assessments. Some units of the qualification require an online external assessment. Functional Skills courses are assessed by a final written examination.
FURTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES?
After successful completion of the course you can progress to a higher level apprenticeship at Level 3. Prospects College do not currently have a Level 3 offer but can advice on progression pathways with other providers.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
For 16-18 year old students, apprenticeships are fully funded. For 19+ students an employer contribution is required.
