WHAT DO I NEED?
Ideally you should have 4 GCSE grades at A-C including English and Maths or the EAL Level 1 Engineering qualification.
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I RECEIVE?
EAL NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations: units 001, 002, 003, 005, 011, 012 (500/9836/6)NOCN Certificate in Developing Skills in Employment (500/9166/9)
Functional Skills: English
Functional Skills: Maths
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will combine practical learning in the workshops with theory sessions. Literacy and Numeracy skills will be taught separately and will be imbedded in the vocational teaching. While on the programme you will study a range of units including: Computer Aided Design, practical skills and underpinning knowledge.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Each unit of the qualification is assessed through ongoing demonstration of practical skills and theory assignments. Some units of the qualification require an online external assessment. Functional skills are assessed by a final written examination.
FURTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES?
After successful completion of the course the learners can progress to an apprenticeship scheme with employment or alternative engineering courses.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
For 16 – 18 year olds, this programme is fully funded.
