LEVEL 1 CONSTRUCTION
INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE:
This
Level 1 course has been designed to allow students the opportunity to develop
and practise some basic construction skills in wood, brick, painting and
tiling. In addition, students will complete mandatory units in communication
and number.

You can
study this course in a variety of formats:
One day
a week in Year 9 (would achieve the Certificate)
One day
a week in Year 9 and One day a week in Year 10 (would achieve the Diploma)
Two days
a week in Year 9
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Students
should have an interest in the construction industry and commitment and willingness
to learn.
COURSE ASSESSMENT:
This
qualification is assessed by the tutors throughout the course. Assessments are
designed to meet the criteria stated by the awarding body.
COURSE PROGRESSION:
Students
can progress to either the City and Guilds 6218 - Level 1: An Award in
Basic
Construction Skills or Level 2: BTEC First Diploma in Construction. (Would
achieve the Diploma)
