FORK LIFT TRUCK DRIVING
(EXPERIENCED OPERATOR COURSE)
AIM:
This practical course is designed for existing forklift truck (FLT) operators who have been continuously operating FLTs for a minimum of six months. The course is approved by the Road Transport Industry Training Board Ltd and fully complies with the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance for the Rider-Operated Lift Trucks Operator Training 1999 2nd Edition (L117), PUWER 1998 and LOLER 1998
To enable participants to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to operate fork lift trucks, reach, counterbalance or pedestrian, safely and efficiently and to take the RTITB assessment and skill test.
COURSE CONTENTS:
· The Health and Safety at Work Act and its implications
· FLT operators’ safety code
· Introduction to FLTs
· Daily checks and FLT maintenance
· Battery maintenance and charging
· Stacking and de-stacking pallets at varying heights
· Practical and theory test
