(CCNSG) – National Safety Passport

 

AIM:

 

The Scheme is designed to ensure all personnel seeking employment on-site have a basic knowledge of Health and Safety and therefore, after an appropriate site induction, are able to work more safely and with lower risk to themselves and others.

 

On completion of the course delegates will be able to:

·         Understand basic health and safety requirements.

·         Identify common hazards and risks on-site that may affect themselves and others.

·         Take suitable action and precautions to avoid the identified hazards and risks, also to report such incidents.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

 

Session 1- Safe Behaviour at Work:

Reasonably practicable

Duties at work

Shaping safety behaviour

Health and Safety inspectors

 

Session 2- A Safe Place of Work:

Hazard and risk

Control of risk

Confined spaces

Work permits

Excavations

Working at height

Fire risk controls

Site vehicles

 

 

Session 3- Safe Systems of Work:

PUWER

LOLER

Electricity

Energy and hazard Isolation

Manual Handling

 

Session 4- Common Safety Problems and Safe Solutions:

Noise

Vibration

Reporting accidents

First aid

Hazardous substances

Asbestos

The environment

PPE and welfare


 

DURATION:

A 2 day course consisting of 4 sessions (2 per day). On completion of each session a multi-choice paper will be undertaken with a pass mark of 80%. Only a successful delegates will recieve the Safety Passport.
