Below are some frequently asked questions and answers which may help you with your decision.
I do not get on very well at school. Will this stop me from making progress at College?
No. Prospects College provides trade specific courses which are very different from any subject provided at school. Working groups are also smaller.
I sometimes lack confidence and I think I will need extra help to achieve my qualification. What support is available?
Experienced tutors provide assistance on the workshop. In addition, the coordinators will also assist you with other problems which might affect your course.
Will I get paid travel expenses whilst I am on a course?
Unfortunately, no. You may be able to ask your school for some assistance.
Will the College help me to find a job or an apprenticeship?
We have good links with local employers, as well as local Connexions, and will work with you to find employment. However there is an expectation that you will take responsibility for finding an employer.
Job Search facilities are also available to help you find work.
What if I have a problem which is affecting my course?
The Schools to Careers team and your school coordinator are here to help you. You can ask for a confidential meeting with them at any time and they will try to assist you and resolve your problem.
